Welcome! With the weather getting warmer and the nights longer, its time to get out the barbecue utensils and fire up the grill. Before you do, please consider the following safety tips from the Massachusetts State Fire Marshal, Stephen D. Coan. Barbecue Safety Use all grills away from the house Supervise children whenever grill is in use. NEVER use gasoline on any grill Gas Grills Keep all LP gas outside ten feet from house. LP gas grill are NOT permitted inside OR on balconies above the first floor. LP gas is heavier than air. Leaking gas sinks and can pose a hazard to people below. Charcoal Grills Use ONLY charcoal lighter fluid. Once coal has lighted, NEVER add more fluid as flame may travel up the stream and cause serious burns. Have a safe and enjoyable summer, Chief, Stephen Brown |
